– Common Wave’s Hi-Fi Night School –
The fifth installment in our series of listening sessions delves into the diverse world of high-fidelity sound, curated by renowned artists and collectors.

Over the next seven weeks, immerse yourself in a truly unique auditory experience, featuring a custom OJAS system inspired by the components showcased at the groundbreaking ‘Art of Noise’ exhibit at SFMoMA.

Our setup includes an OJAS Three-Way Loudspeaker Array, Kuzma Dual Arm XL DC Turntable, and equipment from Accuphase, Miyajima, and Nakamichi. The system will continue to evolve as the series unfolds.

Get ready for an unforgettable evening as Jeffery Plansker of Jazz Advance curates a night of jazz and eclectic sounds. A staple of dublab since 2015, Jeffery’s sets are a journey through the ever-evolving world of jazz, exploring its deep roots and modern manifestations across the globe.

Before joining dublab, Jeffery honed his DJ skills on legendary pirate and college radio stations like KBLT, Ajax 6, and WMFO-Tufts, leaving his mark on the underground airwaves of the ’90s and ’00s. With over four decades in the creative industry, he’s directed and collaborated on iconic music videos and commercials for artists such as Soundgarden, Radiohead, Robbie Robertson, Belly, and Urge Overkill.

In addition to his DJ prowess, Jeffery wears many creative hats. He’s the editor of the Brilliant Corners newsletter, founder of Geodesic Disques, producer of the project Beneath Detroit, and creator of the cutting-edge retail concept The Bloke. Currently, he serves as Director and Visual Artist at Pocket Studio where he continues to blend his passion for music and visual storytelling.
